Job Title: Website Developer
Location: Remote
Type: Project-based contract (estimated 3-4 months)
Compensation: This is a project-based contract position. Applicants should submit a proposal outlining their total contractor fee for completing the project and an example budget of deliverables and associated costs for this type of project.

The Center for Process Studies (CPS) is a nonprofit research and educational organization committed to advancing holistic, process-relational thinking for the common good. We are currently expanding and streamlining our digital presence to better support our global network of scholars, students, and changemakers.
Project Overview
CPS is seeking a skilled Website Developer to lead a comprehensive website audit and support a multi-phase project involving website consolidation, content expansion, and platform integration. This includes building out a searchable digital library/archive, developing an online education suite, and implementing a secure members portal for controlled access to resources. The project will involve close collaboration with the communications and education teams to ensure the systems developed will be effective and well suited to our particular needs.
Scope of Work
- Website Audit & Strategic Recommendations
- Review the current CPS website (built on WordPress).
- Identify performance, UX, accessibility, and SEO improvements.
- Provide a roadmap for site optimization and consolidation.
- Implement a membership portal and user profiles that integrate with Activecampaign contacts which will facilitate access to educational offerings and digital library.
- Improve the site’s custom post types, taxonomies, and archive templates to better leverage dynamic content across the website.
- Site Consolidation & Content Migration
- Assist in merging or integrating other CPS-affiliated sites or microsites into the main site.
- Ensure minimal disruption to current users and proper redirects for legacy URLs.
- Standardize navigation, branding, and content formats across pages.
- Online Education Suite Development
- Recommend and configure a Learning Management System (LMS) via a third-party service (Mighty Networks, Circle) or a plugin compatible with WordPress (LearnDash).
- Set up an integrated learning environment for self-paced courses, including video hosting (YouTube/Vimeo), PDF readings, quizzes, and forums.
- Ensure content is easy to navigate for non-technical users.
- Digital Library/Archive Integration
- Build out a public-facing archive interface using Omeka or similar platform.
- Integrate the archive with Alibaba Cloud OSS or similar platform for backend storage.
- Automate or streamline metadata generation and tagging for 10,000+ PDFs.
- Ensure the archive is searchable, filterable, and scalable.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong experience with WordPress development and plugins.
- Familiarity with Omeka, Alibaba OSS, or similar platforms.
- Experience implementing LMS platforms, digital archives, or membership portals.
- Comfort working with PDF batch metadata tools or developing automated solutions.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while providing regular updates and meeting project milestones.
