Organized around Augustine’s 4th century doctrine of “original sin\,” the Fall/Redemption grand narrative begins with the concept that humankind and all of creation exist in a pervasive state of corruption from which only God in Christ can deliver them.  \n\n\nThere is\, however\, an earlier Christian grand narrative that emerged from ancient Jewish and Christian traditions prior to the 4th century. This grand narrative tells the story of Creation/Restoration. It focuses on the concept of divine guidance and creaturely response in creating life that enacts God’s vision to restore shalom/peace among all aspects of creation. \n\n\nTherefore\, Western Christianity features two grand narratives. One highlights sin and the need for redemption. The book introduces several key processual concepts into pedagogical discourse\, showing how Whitehead’s philosophy of organism provides robust\, rational\, and at the same time flexible interpretative frameworks for both pedagogy and the humanities more broadly. He demonstrates the incompatibility between the supernaturalistic worldview and the scientific worldview\, and maintains that supernaturalism perpetuates rather than solves the problems of theodicy and divine hiddenness.  \nAs a solution\, Bahl argues for a process naturalist view of God—one which sees God as relational\, persuasive and embedded within the natural world. Bahl is an emerging voice in the process theology community.
