We are currently expanding and streamlining our digital presence to better support our global network of scholars, students, and changemakers.

Role Overview

CPS is seeking an experienced video editor to support 1. our growing operational need for professional edits of recordings from online events and conferences and 2. content creation projects such as our Conversations in Process video podcast, short-form clips for social media, and planned stand-alone video series. The ideal candidate is someone with established experience editing video content tailored to an online audience, strong attention to detail and reliability, and alignment to the mission of CPS. We anticipate this contract to require a commitment of 10–20 hours/month and are open to exploring project-based compensation rather than hourly. This is a varied role and we’d love to find someone who can grow with us across these areas!

Scope of Work

  • Polish raw recordings from our online events, course sessions, and podcast video recordings to provide a quality viewing experience, including, but not limited to, smoothing out rough transitions, removing dead space, and cleaning up audio

  • Upload the finished recordings to the CPS YouTube channel with proper thumbnails, description, and playlist placement within two weeks of the event having taken place
2. Short Form Video Creation
  • Efficiently produce a few vertical short-form clips from each event recording which include live captions and can be used for both social media and YouTube
3. Larger Editing Projects
  • Help produce a professional and cohesive edit of bulk conference recordings, creating a well organized set of individual session/speaker videos
  • Ensure timeliness of edited recording availability by having the edit complete within one month of the conference concluding
4. Content Creation Projects
  • Work closely with relevant CPS team members to produce stand-alone video series projects
  • Collaborate with the communications team to develop consistent media assets to implement in the video series to ensure an effective and professional final product
5. Revisions and File Management
  • Skillfully organize and share completed edits via Google Drive for feedback from relevant staff prior to publication
  • Communicate via email and Zoom regarding requested revisions and any potential issues

Required Qualifications

  • Authorization to work lawfully in the United States
  • Demonstrated competence with a professional video editing software such as Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut (we don’t have a preference for a specific software as long as your skills are well-suited to the role)
  • Attention to detail in video editing and uploading to ensure a polished and professional product
  • Ability to work independently to finalize video edits on a consistent and timely basis
  • A keen attention to brand identity to apply relevant CPS brand assets to video projects
  • Flexibility to adapt to a variable workload and remain timely in producing final edits

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with the latest technologies to help automate and streamline video editing and clip creation
  • A strong sense of trends in video content to offer suggestions on how to adapt and improve the presentation and format of our content
  • Knowledge of tools or systems which could increase the value of our video content through adding closed captioning, producing transcripts, etc.
  • Interest in big-picture thinking in general and process-relational philosophies in particular

Benefits

  • Consistent minimum workload of five to seven recordings monthly
  • Opportunity to be involved in a mission-driven organization and collaborate with a passionate and caring team
