Thomas Hermans-Webster

Thomas Hermans-Webster is a United Methodist Elder, currently serving as Acquiring Editor at Orbis Books and Affiliate Faculty in Wesleyan and Methodist Studies at Memphis Theological Seminary. Tom earned his PhD from Boston University School of Theology in constructive theology and theological ethics. His scholarship explores how process thought reshapes our understanding and practice of the Eucharist, arguing for a dynamic interpretation of sacramental presence that enhances Christian action for ecological well-being. Through his writing and teaching, he examines how divine participation in the world manifests through communal ritual and sacred meals, drawing on both Whitehead’s metaphysics and liturgical traditions.
