Advent opens with one of the most interventionist prayers in scripture: “O that you would tear open the heavens and come down.” So what does a process theologian do with it? Tripp Fuller joins the conversation to explore Advent through a God whose power persuades rather than coerces. The Annunciation becomes a model of divine action, with its lure, its question, and Mary’s yes. Waiting turns into openness to genuine novelty rather than a forecast, and the incarnation is read as God’s deepest participation in the world, the “fellow-sufferer who understands,” rather than a one-time intrusion into it.
