Recent breakthroughs in science and philosophy are beginning to disclose the deeper meanings behind our evolving universe. This emerging understanding of nature and history reveals humanity’s higher purpose: to further human evolution by fostering the spiritual growth of people, the cultural growth of civilization, and the maturation of our relationship with nature. In response to the gloomy zeitgeist of our time, Steve McIntosh‘s Truth Emerging: A Developmental Philosophy of Purpose and Progress provides a renewed vision of purpose and progress. In this session of Process Explorations, Steve will introduce the main ideas from the book and share his reflections on noosphere evolution.

“This is philosophy that aspires to make a difference, to move beyond academic abstraction toward real-world impact.”
— Ilia Delio, Professor of Theology, Villanova University

“Readers will find here many good reasons for hope.”
— John F. Haught, Emeritus Professor of Theology, Georgetown University

“This book amplifies McIntosh as a leading voice for meaning and purpose in an evolving cosmos.”
— Andrew M. Davis, author of Whitehead’s Universe
