In this special session of Process Explorations, members of the SPARKS Community Cohort share work from Concrescence, the first online gallery of the Center for Process Studies’ arts collective. Alfred North Whitehead described concrescence as the process by which “the many become one, and are increased by one,” as influences from the past gather into a new unity of experience.

The exhibition brings together nine artists working in a wide range of mediums, from ink drawing on paper to video with layered sound and spoken poetry. Each was invited to explore moments of gathering and emergence in their work, and to ask how their own creative process brings many influences together into a new whole.

The session includes a live digital tour of the virtual gallery, led by Kaeti MacNeil. As the tour stops at each piece, featured artists will speak about their work and the influences it draws together. A conversation with attendees will follow. Everyone is welcome to visit the gallery before the session: https://ctr4process.org/sparks-gallery-concresence
