Kamila Kwapińska

Dr. Kamila Kwapińska is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow on the Leverhulme-funded project Technology and the (Future) Human in War, led by Dr. Lindsay C. Clark, at the University of Sussex. Her research is interdisciplinary, exploring how technological evolution shapes the organisation of societies in contexts of peace and conflict. It spans political and social theory, the philosophy of AI and digital technologies, international relations, security studies, and creative methodologies. She is particularly interested in how process philosophy and critical theory can provide new analytical frameworks and methods for examining the relationships between evolving technologies and psycho-social and bio-ecological processes, as well as their implications for politics. She has also researched Russia’s aggression against Europe, particularly its invasion of Ukraine, cyber warfare, and grey-zone conflict, examining how these developments have reshaped the European security order and affected civil society. She is an author of Organic Materialism and Philosophy of Technology: On the Speculative Relationship between Thought and Matter (Palgrave Macmillan, 2027) and, with Richard G. Whitman, The UK and the War in Ukraine: Status-Seeking in the European Security Order (Routledge, 2027). She is affiliated with the Sussex Centre for Global Insecurities Research, Centre for Critical Thought, and a member of the Process Ecologies Network.
