Paul Stenner

Paul Stenner is Professor of Social Psychology at the Open University, UK. He is former President of the International Society for Theoretical Psychology (ISTP) and past Executive Director of the International Process Network (IPN), and he was founder of the UK Association for Process Thought (APT). He has published widely on the relevance to psychology and the social sciences of process thought in general, and of the philosophy of A. N. Whitehead in particular. Recent books include Liminality and Experience (Palgrave, 2017), Orpheus’ Glance: Selected Papers on Process Psychology (Chromatika, 2018, with Michel Weber), Putting Psychology in its Place: Critical Historical Perspectives (Routledge, 2023, with Graham Richards), and The Microgenetic Theory of Mind and Brain: Selected Essays in Process Psychology (Routledge, 2025, with Jason Brown and Denys Zhadiaiev), Denys and Stenner, Paul eds. (2025). He is a Humboldt Fellow and Fellow of the prestigious UK Academy of Social Sciences.
