Kah-Jin Jeffrey Kuan

Dr. Kah-Jin Jeffrey Kuan is President of Claremont International University and Co-President of Claremont School of Theology, where he has served as president since 2013. Previously Dean and Professor of Hebrew Bible at Drew University, his research and teaching focus on ancient Israelite and Near Eastern history, Asian and Asian American hermeneutics, the Book of Job, and biblical instruction for churches. A strong proponent of religious pluralism and social justice, Dr. Kuan is also a longstanding advocate for LGBTQIA+ equality in churches and society, including through scholarship, public advocacy, and service as an expert witness. He has served on the boards and councils of several theological organizations, including the Association for Theological Schools, the Hispanic Theological Initiative Consortium, and the Foundation for Theological Education in Southeast Asia, and previously taught at the Pacific School of Religion and the Graduate Theological Union.
